Live one-on-one Zoom sessions tailored to modern rock & metal artists

What this mentoring is

  • This is not a generic course or a one-size-fits-all coaching program.
  • One-on-one mentoring is a focused, collaborative session where we work directly on your music, your goals, and your sticking points.
  • We’ll zoom out when needed (direction, taste, long-term growth) and zoom in when it matters (specific songs, arrangements, production decisions).

Who this is for

For:

► Guitarists writing modern rock or metal

► Artists stuck with unfinished or “almost-there” songs

► Producers wanting clearer structure and decision-making

► Musicians who already write, but want better results faster

Not for:

► Absolute beginners

► People looking for quick hacks or presets

► Anyone wanting validation instead of honest feedback

How it works

  1. You apply and describe what you want help with

  2. I review your goals and confirm it’s a good fit

  3. We book a 60-minute session (Zoom)

  4. You send material beforehand (songs, demos, questions)

  5. You leave with clear next steps and direction

Frequently Asked Questions

Once your session is booked, I’ll ask you to send through any relevant material beforehand — this might be a demo, stems, a rough mix, or specific questions you’re stuck on.
The clearer you are about what you want help with, the more focused and valuable the session will be.

Sessions are flexible, but it’s best to focus on one main area per session. Common topics include:

  • Song structure and arrangement
  • Improving creative ideas
  • Guitar tone and mix advice
  • Recording techniques

If you’re unsure what to focus on, we’ll figure that out together at the start.

This mentoring is best suited to musicians who already write, record, or produce music at some level.
If you’re brand new to music or guitar, this likely isn’t the right fit — and I’ll happily point you in a better direction if needed.

Not in the traditional sense.
This isn’t a structured curriculum or technique-based guitar lesson. Think of it more as creative mentoring — problem-solving, decision-making, and direction, tailored specifically to your music.

Sessions can be recorded on request.
If you’d like a recording for reference afterward, just let me know before we start.

Sessions are run in New Zealand time (NZT) via  video call.
If you’re overseas, we’ll find a time that works for both of us where possible.
